New Year – The January Goal – My Monthly Resolutions

New Year, The January Goal: Why I am Switching to Monthly Resolutions

It is the 1st day of January, and the big question is: What is your goal for this year?

For a long time, I struggled with big resolutions. Even when I did everything right, I always ended up feeling drained.

I realized that looking at a whole year is too much. That is why I have decided to make monthly goals instead.

I have been working on this ‘month-wise’ system for the past two months. It helps me check exactly what is pushing me back and what is moving me forward.

If you are tired of failing your resolutions by February, join me in this January Goal reset.”

How to Stop Feeling Drained: My Monthly Resolution for Emotional Boundaries

The Problem: Being Too “Available” “I realized why I felt drained most of the time: I was emotionally available for everyone. Isn’t it inhuman to expect one person to be everything for everybody?

I realized I cannot fulfill everyone’s expectations. I have a baby who looks up to his Mumma every day. He is watching how I lead my life, and I want to lead it with strength.

The Solution: The ‘One Eye, One Ear’ Rule To make sure my life changes for the better in 2026, I started following a very simple strategy to protect my energy. I call it the One Eye, One Ear Rule:

  • One Ear: I listen with only one ear. This allows me to filter out the noise. I avoid things that are not necessary and only keep what is important.
  • One Eye: I see only what I want to see, not what others want me to focus on.

By doing this, my brain only processes what is best for me and my child. I am no longer drained because I am choosing what matters.”

The Truth About Stress “The fact is, there will always be things that trouble us—career, health, wealth, or family. But honestly, if I am not okay, I cannot make anyone else okay.

I had to put myself first to be a better Mumma and a better person.

Start Small: My 3 Simple Steps for 2026 You don’t need long, scary targets. You can start with short targets that give you a ‘drive.’ Here is how I am starting my January Goal:

Journaling: I am starting today. Writing things down helps clear the ‘drained’ feeling.

Restarting a Hobby: I loved Yoga before I had my baby. For a long time, I felt I had no energy or time to go back. I felt I could never start again.

The “Small Push” Method is my secret to staying consistent without feeling drained.

Instead of setting a huge goal like “I will do Yoga every day,” I started with a tiny, reachable short target: first, I simply found a good Yoga trainer, and then I committed to attending just 3 classes. Guess what?

I have been doing this regularly for the past month! By focusing on a simple 3-day target each time, I found the drive to keep going without the pressure of a long-term commitment.

This proves that you don’t need big resolutions; you just need a small push to change your life for the better in 2026.

Whatever suits you, and whatever gives you that drive—that is your goal. Short targets are the secret to success.”
